Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) increasingly burdens the health of many people, as indicated by growing numbers U.S. military veterans’ claims. An increased awareness PTSD a concern necessitates careful exploration treatments. A range current treatments and need to more selectively utilize is addressed. Studies indicate that recent treatment breakthroughs may offer promise can be effectively utilized. Assertions from organizations such National Center for contradict commonly cited contention there no “cure” PTSD. review literature reveals that: (1) Veterans Administration dispensing drugs (some which have harmful side effects) are not approved use in treating Food Drug Administration, (2) aggressively exploring novel approaches treatment, (3) adequately funding research into relatively disability payments.
